Beyond the Baby Blues

Beyond the Baby Blues provides treatment for pregnancy and postpartum mood disorders and supports the adjustment to parenthood.

Postpartum mood disorders can occur any time immediately after birth up to one year postpartum. Women are most at risk to experience emotional difficulties following the birth of a baby than at any other time in their lives. 1 in 5 women experience a Postpartum Mood Disorder.

Left untreated, they can continue and have negative effects on the cognitive, emotional and social development of your baby. However, Postpartum mood disorders are a medical condition that can be treated successfully.

We Offer

  • Consultation

  • Medication referral

  • Free Drop-in groups

  • Mother-infant psychotherapy

  • Sliding fee scale and insurance accepted

Important Facts about Postpartum Depression

Postpartum Depression can strike any woman without warning:

  • Women with or without history of depression;

  • Single women or women in stable or conflictual marriages;

  • After a first, second, or third baby; or

  • Women who have a career  or stay at home with their child.
