Project Permanency
Project Permanency is an innovative, public/private response to homelessness that provides service-enriched housing for local homeless families.
With support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s Sound Families Initiative, private developer HSC Real Estate, Delridge Neighborhood Development Association, King County and Seattle Housing Authorities, and Family Services have come together to address homelessness here in King County.
Following a nationally recognized best practice, this unique partnership of developer, housing authority and social service agency, allows families to transition "in place" to permanent housing. Research by the Sound Families Initiative has proven this model to be very effective.
Family Services provides case management and supportive services for clients of this transitional housing program, helping them gain the skills they need to obtain and maintain permanent housing. HSC Real Estate provides units of existing market rate apartments in north Seattle and north and south King County and the Delrigde Neighborhood Development Association provides units in West Seattle at Croft Place. The market rate units are available for homeless families in King County with incomes at or below 30% of the median income for the area. Families will qualify for rent subsidy through Section 8 vouchers from the two housing authorities.
