Morningsong

Morningsong is a licensed specialized child care program for homeless families with young children. This program fills a crucial need for families striving to move from homelessness to long-term housing. Morningsong provides parents with the time necessary to seek employment, training and permanent housing.

Morningsong provides an enriching and nurturing environment care for children ages one to five. The teachers at Morningsong develop and implement a curriculum that promotes growth and learning, enhances self-esteem and fosters language development.

Morningsong provides these critical services to clients:

  • Child care

  • Age appropriate curriculum

  • Nutritionally balanced meals

  • On-site health services through Health Care for the Homeless

  • Developmental assessments

  • Dental screenings

  • Tangible goods such as diapers

  • Culturally relevant services

  • Parent-child activities/fieldtrips

Since opening its doors in 1988, more than 180 children are seen annually at Morningsong, an average of 30 children per day.
