DV Dads & Their Kids

Helping fathers help the children affected by their violence

In this innovative program, men come to understand the dramatic effects of domestic violence upon their children or children of their partners. This program is ideal for men who have successfully completed the weekly sessions in a state-certified domestic violence intervention program.

The curriculum includes communication skills, child development and parenting techniques, all in the context of violence in the child's home.

Many Parenting Plans require fathers to successfully complete a state-certified men's domestic violence program prior to unsupervised visitation. Adding DV Dads and Their Kids to the monthly phase of the DV intervention program can be a valuable learning opportunity for fathers.

Requirements
A referral from the men's domestic violence program (via mail or fax to 877-903-0553) is required, with verification that the client has successfully completed the program's requirements and the WAC 388-60 requirements for the weekly phase.

Each client must sign consent for us to exchange information with the men's DV program. The DV program continues, and the case managers maintain responsibility for any reporting requirements.
